Where are we going for Easter? Dream locations for a family picnic

When it comes to Easter, we Romanians know all too well that this wonderful day is also the time when many of us get together and spend time as a family. Barbecues, egg clucking, and going out in nature are already part of the “standard package”, so why don’t we make, as usual, an itinerary proposal with some magical places where you can spend – safely – Easter holidays with your family?

BANEASA FOREST – A CLASSIC FOR FAMILIES

Baneasa Forest is perfect for a hike, a picnic, or a nature outing. Located 10 km from Bucharest, the forest is full of roads and paths and is surrounded by restaurants, if you decide you want to stop for a coffee or a snack with your loved ones.

DOFTANA VALLEY – A ROMANTIC DINNER FOR 2

Located next to a soothing lake with breathtaking scenery, Doftanei Valley is the perfect location for a picnic in 2 at sunset. What should be mentioned is that you will need to bring your snacks, as this location is not surrounded by restaurants. You can, however, always come with us and this will not be a problem – some lovingly cooked food, a car that will handle any road and, last but not least, a great evening for 2!

COMANA NATURE PARK – READY FOR AN ADVENTURE?

A hike through the woods is just the thing to whet your appetite for a delicious picnic. You can plan a nature walk on foot, by bike, or even by boat. We’ve already missed nature activities, so we highly recommend this versatile location full of surprises.

CERNICA – A SPECIAL PLACE

The park takes its name, of course, after the wonderful Cernica Monastery, which is a perfect place to visit, especially on a holy day like Easter Sunday. This holy place was built in 1608 during the reign of Radu Serban, and the monastery was founded by Michael the Brave, Cernica Stirbei, and his wife, Chiajna.

After a visit to this wonderful monastery, you can toast an Easter egg with the whole family in the Cernica Forest, and children can enjoy the adventure park that is specially set up for them.

Have you ever dreamed of sailing? Then we have the perfect recommendation for you. A ride to Tancabesti where the Equestria Riding Club is located is the ideal place. Not only can you ride (and you will be guided and helped), but if you are already advanced you can also participate in the occasional competitions.

STIRBEY ESTATE – AN ARCHITECTURAL WONDER

If you want to relax in nature with a hot chocolate and admire the architectural wonders, then we highly recommend the Stirbey estate. You can take a walk, and admire the lake, the water tower, the Stirbey Palace, and the Stirbey Chapel, all of which are exceptional.
